Healthy Weight Lose

Have you ever taken a serious look at the number of weight loss programs that are available to the consumer. Anyone looking for a particular program to help them achieve healthy weight loss could spend a lot of time trying to decide which one is the best. But doing some research is absolute necessary if you want to be successful at maintaining permanent weight loss. Why go through the regimen of weight loss only to regain it, and possible even more weight, back? This is probably one of the most common occurrences for those involved in the weight loss game. Lose some weight and then gain even more back over time.

Weight loss is a serious issue and there are many researchers that conduct various studies trying to find the answers that will help all who need to lose weight. It is a fact that 95% of people who try to lose weight on a conventional weight loss diet will gain back all that weight and maybe even end up fatter than before. Many people are inclined to give up before they even reach their target weight. They will reach a plateau in the weight loss regime and lose enthusiasm. What they don’t realize is they have probably been “eating” their own muscle and slowed down their metabolism.

Why has the weight loss industry become so huge over the last few years? The answer is simple. There is money to be made. And lots of it. That is why there are thousands of diet programs available and countless people claiming to be weight loss experts, but very few of them have first hand experience of the diets they are promoting. They haven’t practiced what they preach. If they had many of them would know that their diets simply don’t work for the average overweight person and some programs are the farthest thing from healthy weight loss.

Once a person loses some weight they usually go back to their old habits, thinking that they have won the game. But the time period after you have reached your target weight is very crucial. In one recent study weight loss participants were followed up throughout the maintenance period with 6 month and 12 month check ups. Almost everyone regained the weight they had lost. The surprising fact was why they regained the weight and who regained the most.
The study discovered that there was a strong correlation between a drop in physical activity and those who regained the most weight. Those people who think they can lose weight fast and maintain that weight loss without exercise are thinking short term.

Everyone knows the main theory behind healthy weight loss, but we seem to forget this important fact once we have been successful at trimming down. We all know that to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you take in. The big mistake is to think that this is achieved by cutting calories instead of achieving it by burning more calories while exercising. The bottom line: If you want to MAXIMIZE your fat loss, and keep fat off permanently, it is imperative not only to keep up a high level of energy expenditure but also to make a conscious effort to make sure your activity level does not drop as you lose weight during the calorie deficit.
