Healthy Weight Loss

So many people today need and want to achieve weight loss. And in an effort to reach their goals they will almost try anything that promises success. From fad diets to extreme exercise programs to diet pills, people look for ways to rid their body of the excess weight. People will try fat-burning supplements, muscle-building supplements, buy the latest best selling diet book, or surf the web for information about diet, nutrition or weight loss programs. All this in an effort to achieve healthy weight loss.

The problem with many of these weight loss diets, programs etc. is that they have very little scientific validation. It seems that anyone can come up with what they call a healthy weight loss program and market it. Unfortunately if you are looking for honest, accurate information about nutrition and how to lose weight effectively, you will find that it is harder to come by than ever before, and nearly everyone has been misled at one time or another. This may of course be that the so called guru thinks that the information they are giving is correct and may have been misled themselves. But to ensure that you are receiving or giving accurate and honest information you need to look very carefully at the scientific evidence surrounding the claims.

As our body accumulates fat it is distributed throughout our entire physique, however, we all know that the fat seems to find certain areas where it is attracted like a magnet. Most regular dieters will be familiar with the problem of belly fat. Belly fat has become the dieters curse. No matter how easily you are able to lose weight, undoubtedly you will be left with the problem of stubborn belly fat. This is particularly frustrating for women who need healthy weight loss and are looking for that slim-line figure, but no matter how hard you try the problem persists. Women are born with more fat cells than men, mainly for the purpose of protecting and nourishing our babies. So the removal of that stubborn mid section fat, can actually be a lot harder for women than for men.

Have you noticed how our society has become one in which we want what we want right now, no waiting around. We have become an impatient society. This holds true for healthy weight loss as well. One of the most important principles in any program you may follow to lose weight is to be able to see visible results quickly. Getting rid of that bloated belly can be a great incentive for most people. Better to get rid of it from the start than be left with it at the end of your diet.

So many people have a “pot belly”, yet they don’t understand what can contribute to this bloated belly. Of course it has something to do with the food eaten. Ingesting foods your body is intolerant to can cause inflammation and this is one of the main reasons for a bloated belly, especially if that belly is of the pot belly variety. Inflammation and excess gas caused by undigested food particles can be a major cause of both inflammation and a bloated belly. Most people who have tried to lose weight will be familiar with the term water retention and although this can often be more prevalent in the ankles and other joints it can also be a contributory factor for a swollen midsection . For healthy weight loss to take place it is advisable to address these underlying intolerances first especially if you want to a flat belly not a fat belly as a result.
